Boxing - keep hurting my wrist

When I hit my punch bag recently, I end up hurting my left wrist, even after the first punch from the left hand. I gave boxing a break for 2 weeks and I hit the punch bag again today and hurt my wrist on the first punch. This never happened before, but it must be something with my technique.

I jab witht he right and hook with the left. And my right takes it just fine and its hitting the punch bag 2 or 3 times more than my left.

When Im throwing a hook I have my right foot forward and I shift my weight onto my right foor and twist my hips as it hrow the punch. Which as far as I know is the technique.

So why is it hurting my wrist?

if you really hurt your wrist you should not use it until it fully heels cause u cant box one handed ;)

It sounds like you've weakened your wrists by the way your throwing hook punches it's a common problem for boxers, my wrists are fucked from karate.
It's most likely the way your wrist is bent when you punch the bag. I really don't know how to explain it clearly in writing, but i'll try. Basically when you punch the bag a lot of people make the mistake of kind of bending there wrist a little this is particularly the case when your punching hand pads cause you punch through and end up glancing it rather than making solid contact.
Next time you punch the bag watch what shape your wrist makes when making contact, when it's bent your constantly weakening it.

you can get wrist supports from sport shops. also you should go to your Doctor and he can see if you have fracture it etc.

Maybe you've just weekend the left wrist.
Maybe you just need to leave it a little longer than 2weeks, and then start up again..hmm. I'm not sure though, i know fuck all about this stuff.
