I disagree I don't think it was an emergency at all, sorry. I am careful when i press the vote to delete too, and i think most support leaders are, i just didn't see much of the "e" in that post, sorry.

I voted to delete it. She wants to know if her boyfriend could go to jail for statutory rape. She didn't really give that many details, to her situation. If we asked her, she would not have been able to reply. For example, did someone just find out they had sex, or is there already a court case? Things that would completely change our answers. We couldn't get that information, because she isn't a Support Leader, and couldn't reply. Thus, to me, it seemed better in the forums.

eHelp (Emergency Help) is LiveWire's fast, free service available for users to receive quick help, support, and advice from Support Leaders.
I think I missed the part where is says, unless decided that the user does not deserve the quick help, support and advice from support leaders.
Signing up also happens to be free. Takes seconds too. David gave us the option to delete eHelps. Seriously. I'm sorry if I used it, under the criteria that David provided. (Edited by Roy at 6:27 pm on June 29, 2006)

I think it should of stayed, as it was a legitamit question. Until we have anomynous forum posting, things like that need to stay. For all ya'll know, she could of been a known member (despite the typing... most people catch on). She is probably in a panic as the father of her baby, whom she obviously loves as she is willing to get married, is going to jail.

I'd like to add that I've looked in the eHelp library, (Im just a tech) and I've noticed that basically none of them are actually 'emergency.' And emergency would be a situation where someone is in dire need of immediate help, with possible repercussions of injury, whether emotional or physical. I think this is a not-good feature, as it is hardly a Support Leader's responsibility to decide how important one's situation is.

I don't think it's a good idea in the first place. As someone else pointed out, nothing in there is REALLY an emergency.. actually, I agree with all of 4est's post. When a truly bad comes along, and it's obviously spam, a mod can easily take care of it, but I've seen a few get deleted that really were fine. I know members like to use it to remain anonymous, and the purpose of this website is to provide support... support that those members won't get unless they have a way to be unknown. Those types of messages really need to stay. And this feature isn't good. There's no point to it, and I think it's not being used correctly.
