I'm not going to do it.  I might have considered referring (real) friends when it wasn't a requirement, I won't now.  Call it cutting off my nose to spite my face if you like, but I won't conform to something as poorly thought-out as making it complusory to refer real-life friends on a teen emotional support site.  I hate getting emails from friends saying "hey, join this site it's really great!!!1."  I am not going to turn into a hypocrite for the sake of a rank.

I don't care if I'm a Dairy Product Addict for all of the time I'm remaining here (and my time on LW is coming to an end I feel anyway).  I don't give a toss about my rank, I would hope that people can see through it.  

For what it's worth, I'm expecting the checklist to be gone within 24 hours.  I'd still prefer the immortal words "Wales is still a separate country (on the location selection list) because my father is Welsh" to be removed first though.

I can understand it does control the spamming (sort of) but why do we have to invite people? And why have our ranks dropped? I used to be really into the points but not so much anymore but I still liked my rank. I've been here like 2 years now and it took me ages to get to that rank.

But anyway, the ranks are not the point. Having to refer people is just really stupid in my opinion.

My one and only friend who knows about this board is an infrequent member (Taia). I am 22 years old, and I came here to offer help to others if I could give it. I do not have any other friends who need to be here for any reason at all.

And I'm sure as hell not giving the site to my brothers, as half of what is said here isn't appropriate for a 16 year old, let alone two sheltered 13 and 15 year olds.

Thanks Davis for a good run, but you've just ruined a great site. I hope you will re consider.

I really wouldnt want friends from school or my cosuins from here. I dont want them knowing stuff and i feel il probably use this less if i know thimngs i post, they could view. Even with annoymous posting - still.

This is an anonymous support website. In no way, shape, or form, should people be FORCED to invite people they know in real life, which would remove the anonymity(for the most part) from this website, in order to gain rank?

You "older members" know better than anyone that rank doesn't matter when it comes down to it.  Perhaps you care about rank, but think of this, for each member you refer to here you can get another 100 points to add to your lovely total.  So it's benefiting you AND LiveWire.
