I'm 19 and I've never had a girlfriend and hardly any friends. I can't make friends cause I suck at talking, my mind just blanks and when I do think of something, about half the time the words don't come out right. (I asked if I could grab another drink a few nights ago and it f'n came out as "cad I drab another drink". I'm not good looking so people never and will never approach me, and with the circles i'm going in it's impossible to keep a positive attitude, which makes me look like an asshole, which makes people stay away from me even more, etc etc. all of my friends are way ahead of me socially and carreer wise and i'm god damn sick of always looking up to others my own age. everything I do blows up in my face somehow (usually due to my incompetence somehow) and I really just want to do nothing, but you obviously can't do that or you'll end up on the street somewhere.

So basically what the hell am I supposed to do? Whenever I try something I screw it up, people never make the move to talk to me (not even my friends. I have to clumsily try to start a convo with them first) and it leaves me unmotivated and feeling like complete shit. I'm my 2nd year of community college living with my parents and have been applying to tons of places for a year now trying to get a day job.

ok heres some advice my cousin gave to me.
BE YOURSELF!! i can't express that enough!! you have to learn to be yourself! also, if you dont' have anything to say, noting comes to your head automaticly DON'T SAY ANYTHING...it just makes you look like an idiot thats trying to hard.
i'm serious...when my cousin told me to do these things, i applied it, and belive me it helped alot.
surprisingly after me being myself, i became extreamly popular!!
now when i meet new pple, and i'm just myself, it works out good. of course i get a little nervous, and if i don't talk then pple think i'm either stuck up or quiet...let that pass, if you keep hanging out with them conversations will come up and you'll be talking your head off.
also if your naturally a quiet person,then thats who you are! don't try to change it!
i've been trying to get a job for a while too ...and still no luck. sometimes its hard, but NEVER give up.
i'm only in highschool...but these things my cousin told me helped me out so much! i'm so happy with who i am now!

you don't really have to talk much to have friends, find people like me who like to hear the sound of thier own voice, and pretend you are a good listener. also invite people places, they like that
