They give your school money, tuition is cheaper. I use FAFSA as well. And yes, the earlier you do it, the more money you get.

fall and spring, and summer if you qualify. It really depends on when your school's deadline is. if it's march 1, like mine, you just have to have the FAFSA completed and sent to the school by then, ad it took less than a week for them to do that for me. You have enough time.
