So on with the debits cards, someone said that if i overdraw on my checking account that is linked up to the debit card, that the overdrawn amount will automatically be withdrawn from my savings...
is there like any risks, like from buying off the internet, where my account could be withdrawn without me knowing?

No. If you have 100$ in your checking, and you buy something off line, with tax and shipping, that is 50$ you will not overdraw. Expect an extra 1$ fee, though. I don't know why. Link up to online banking if you can so you can frequently check your account and your available funds.

Not if you properly balance your checkbook. If you make sure you write in every purchase for the correct amount, you should always know the exact amount you have to spend.

You could get in trouble if you buy something and it doesn't go through for a few days. Some companies are weird like that. So I know people who will look at their balance and figure that's what they have instead of remembering that they spent more money. So all you have to do is keep good records and balance your checkbook.

Then make sure you NEVER give out your card number to anywhere sketchy or anything. Only to secure websites.

If you keep track of what you spend and you're safe and smart about giving out the card number, you should be fine.

No, your savings account and your checking account are separate accounts. Even if you have enough money to cover the costs in your savings account, the overdraft will be applied to your checking account unless you've set up something specific with your bank. The overdraft maximum limit is specific to your account type and what you've arranged with your bank.

If you're buying off the Internet, then it's best to buy through things like PayPal which offer buyer protection on eBay and such. However if you're worried about getting scammed, then ask your parents if you can borrow their credit card, because false credit card transactions can be stopped by the bank, but debit cards offer little to no false transaction protection.
