get a macbook pro, i'm going to be a freshman and I have one. They are by far the most reliable laptops and you don't have to deal with all of the viruses and blue screens of death, etc. And don't pay attention to all the people who say "oh Macs Suck" because they are the ones who havent used one... or at least one of the new intel macs. I had to deal with people who said that daily when I worked for Best Buy selling computers and I would eventually convince them that Macs are easily better than all other laptops.
People are scared of change.
