I've got a stinky room mate thats been living at my place since last feb. everything was fine this winter cause his stink stayed in his room so it was w/e. now its summer tho and hes stinking up the whole damn downstairs! ontop of that I now have to go to my folks place to do my laundry cause the washer and drier have seemed to absorbed his smell and I dont want my clothes and bath towels smelling like him. so how do I tell him *nicely* cause he's a friend that he stinks and needs to do somin about it? im gettin close to kicken him out so..

Whenever you come in just say, "OMG! WHAT IS THAT SMELL!?! It smells like (insert smell here). Do you smell that?" and see if he gets the point.

we have a big supply of laundry detergent and the last time I used the washer and dryer I even ran bleach thru it first and my stuff still came out with his stank. and I think he wears deodorant..but he does landscaping and doesnt shower daily or even every other day, I think its a twice a week event for him...and even when hes fresh outa the shower he still stinks cause his clothes all stink.

lmao we've tried, I've even had drunk roommates come in and yell ahh it stinks like kevin in here! while hes in his room..I dont thinks hes got the hint yet

*nicely* tell him, if I said that to him he'd take it personally and would go sulk in his room..im getting sick of his shit tho so maybe kicken him out is the best route.. I knew I should of never asked him if he wanted a room.

I cannot stand the smell of BO, I can't imagine having to live with it. You might just have to flat out tell him. He's not being considerate of you and doesn't give a shit about how you feel, obviously. People who smell bad, know they smell bad. They just don't give a fuck. Let him know how you feel.

well I own the house so..that'd be me. Im often forced to leave notes about cleaning up after yourself cause I work crazy hours but,,I know he hates notes lol

some people cant smell themselves...but you bring up a good point about consideration, I think I'l approach it that way. thanks

When you and him are together and there is no one else around just say to him, "Joe (?), there is something bothering me and since we live so close together I think we should lay everything out on the table and discuss it. If you have a problem with me I want you to tell me about it. You work outside all the time doing really hard work and you sweat a lot. The sweat gets in your clothes and on your body and it smells really bad all the time. The smell has saturated everything in our apartment and its getting to me. Would you please make a big effort to shower every night when you come home and wash your clothes. Now, if I am doing something that bothers you please let me know.
