I didin't think of that.
But what if the god they are worshiping IS Jehovah.

You're bordering dangerously on heresy you know...

I don't personally have a problem with that.

Point is, standard Christian belief does not accept that Jehovah is worshiped in non-Christian traditions and thus we can assume that Jehovah doesn't believe two Hindus can marry with their pagan arrangements.

I don't think that any Christians claim that Jews don't follow the same God we do.

Quite right. Should've said "Judeo-Christian"

If marriage is a Christian and not a secular arrangement, then surely only Christians wed according to Christian standards or by Christian ceremony and in accordance with the practice of the Christian community can have marital sex.

If sex is a sin outside of marriage, and only allowed within, doesn't that mean that all non-Christians are having unmarried sex? Is that acceptable to Jehovah, by Christian standards? Is it possible for anyone but Christians to be married and have sex, in Jehovah's eyes?

The answer of whether it is all right or a sin is irrelevant. They are going to Hell either way because they are non Christians.

If we were talking salvation, you'd be quite right. We're not, so don't be talking to me about relevance.

It's actually quite relevent and Nigel is correct: if they are going to hell for being unsaved, it doesn't matter what else they do that is a sin. The biggest issue is that they are unsaved; anything else is peripheral.

Next point: A Christian ceremony is not the criteria for Christians to recognize a legal marriage. And I don't know what you mean by 'Christian standards'.

Depending on their religious beliefs, it should be up to the non-christians. If they have none such believes then it should be up to their own moral code.

...If this were a thread on whether or not premarital sex is important as far as non-Christians go. Is that the thread I made? No.

Am I talking about Christians recognizing the marriage, or about Jehovah? Is it Christian consensus that defines sin now?

"Christian standards" as in whatever you people think it takes for a couple to be married and therefore free to have sex, as a married couple.

In that case, I'm not sure what you're looking for. You're asking if non-Christians can have sex according to Christians; I'm saying that it doesn't matter whether or not them having sex is a sin, that by Christian doctrine, they're condemned for being unsaved.

You were talking about both, Christians and God (re-read your OP). My point was only about Christians' acceptance of a marriage made outside of a Christian ceremony. Your definition of 'Christian standards' would only reinforce that point, in my opinion.

Next point: (IMO) God does, I believe, accept any "marriage" made in the hearts of the man and the woman, the commitment to each other, without regard to the ceremony performed.
