Well being a christian, i accept all points of christianity. No our religion and what we believe isnt an excuse to discriminate against others for certain reasons. And the ones who actually do that are hypocritcial in their belief and arent believing as they should. God sent his only son to die for the sinners of the world, do you really think he's asking too much by wanting us to believe and have faith in him? If you gave up the most precious thing you owned or have to the world to be destroyed what is the least you would ask of the people you gave it to?
I'm not saying it  is not true, I'm saying it just isn;t for everyone. There are certain people who are more can easily believe that ( probably because they have never been through any real hardship in life and their faith hasn't been tested.). Also if your born into a Christian family and you know your family will reject any other beleif system, you are more likely to be a Christian.

But not everyone in the world has it that easy. A lot of people have never even heard about Jesus, but they are going to be punished for that.

I'm sure its not and Im not saying that theres anything wrong with your belief IMO, but I have a problem with Christianity itself not teaching this.  And what I mean by "problem" is that I don't think I can accept it if that's what they teach.

Since there's no proof that he's the son of God, or even that God exists, that would have to be a yes. Plus I find it an insult that over a millennium before I was born, God and his son apparently assumed I and countless other people, would be a sinner to the point that he should have to die for my/our sins and two thousand years later, I'm born in debt to him for it.

I understand. And i know christianity isnt for everyone. And i hope im not comming off like im forcing it to be that way or anything. Bad things dont have to happen to you for you to believe either. Being religious, whichever religion you choose, is having faith in the unseen and trusting thats to you, its real.

why do you believe in god then? your idea that there is a sentient intelligence is derived from judeochristian myth
I believe in God because the idea of  God isn't exclusive to just Christianity. Idiot.

(don't pull that ad hominem shit on me i'm having a voluntary discussion with you. i'm not attacking you or your faith)

ah so you got your idea of god from another religion? there really aren't that many monotheistic religions around today except the abrahamics.

First off, you were attacking my beliefs by calling it a myth. Second off, it doesn't matter how many there is , all that matters is that there is more than just Christianity. Thirdly, Just because I stopped being a Christian doesn't mean I have to stop believing in God. Christianity is defined by believing in Christ, not by just believing in God.

I consider myself to be more sprititual than religious. My beleifs aren't defined by any relligion. I believe in God and that's it. I have fought with myself for years trying to be a Christian , but I can't do it. I made myself further depressed by trying to do it. To tell you the truth, I never felt more miserable and "trapped" than when I was a Christian. Not until I dropped my traditional beliefs and started just really soul-searching did I ever feel happy or really felt the grace of God.

Thank you for not being a Christian who attacked me with a Bible. You are one of the few Christians I think who really honor what the Bible says.

For 1) your not born into debt you are born into sin. Its a conscious choice you have to make on your own to believe that Jesus is Gods only begotten son. Instead of a doctorine you need to have God Faith.

No, but that's what the Bible teaches. Churches who don't teach that aren't teaching according to the Bible.

Your welcome I hate that other christians have earned us that reputation but things happen. Not to mention the more christians force beliefs on others the harder ther other will cling to their beliefs. So its pointless to force things on another. I just wish people would get the ibble right before posting things. Some people post things and havent even picked up a bible in their lives and try and teach others.

Well fuck, that's even worse! Way to insult my trying to live a decent, moral life regardless of religious standards by predestining me to be a 'sinner'.

Its a conscious choice you have to make on your own to believe that Jesus is Gods only begotten son.

and I don't see much credible evidence for that, hence why the faith business ain't gonna happen. Or rather faith doesn't cut it for me, I can't just accept something that can't be proven.

it's myth in that it has little to no basis in fact and history and one of the central tenets of your religion is faith (ie lack of evidence) over fact. hypocrisy much?

STFU. You're crazy and stupid too.

Just because it's not for everyone doesn't make it false. Is going to psychic and having them read your future mean it's false? But it's not for everyone because not everyone wants to know their future.

But what is a myth to you, isn't a myth to me. I think there is plenty of evidence, you probably think there is none.  But by calling it a myth is attacking my belief system when I haven't attacked yours. So you deserve the idiot comment.
