This is about me right now, in a nutshell:

It's titled 'He love me not'. I'm sure you can see why.

I was hanging out with a good friend this afternoon that I've become very close to lately. Close enough that I could see myself falling for him. Today, he just told me he's glad we're just friends, and basically shot down the idea of anything more.

It's not often that i actually like someone enough to consider them for anything. When it comes to people, I'm incredibly picky. So for someone to be perfect enough for me to fall for them does not happen often, and now it seems like it won't happen again for a long time.

I guess I'm just doomed to be alone, with only casual sex and occasional friends to console me.

Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

Absolutely not! Jordan, you're going to find so much more than casual sex.

You're a great guy. You can even cook and clean and pick out good outfits! You're the total package and you'll find someone who appreciates that.

Don't let this experience control you and influence how you see yourself. You deserve to be in a satisfying relationship and you will be, But you have to have hope for that instead of closing yourself off to the idea of love and romance. They really do still exist out there.

To draw on my Charmed knowledge....

Try to focus on the beginning of your past relationships instead of how they ended. Remember liking the people instead of the rejection. Make yourself think of the tingles of liking someone and falling in love. Those are the memories that will inspire hope and happiness instead of dread. Don't give up on yourself. <333333

You are how old and you are already writing yourself off as "doomed" to never find the right person?  You said yourself that you are picky about who you are willing to let into your life like that, and that's a good thing.  It means you aren't going to get your heart broken by any old guy that comes around with a nice smile and something to offer.  However it also means that you might have to wait around a bit more for the right person to come by.

It does stink that it's hard to find the right person, and I'm sure it's incredibly frustrating.  But I think that finding the right person is something that is worth the wait, don't you?  When that person does come along, and you are both ready, then you will be happy you waited.

This is a setback, which is a part of life.  Don't take it as more than that.  It hurts, yes.  But it doesn't permanently mark you as "doomed" for all of your life.  The only way that can happen is if you truly start believing that and shut the door to anyone who wants to get close to you.

My two cents, anyways.
