However, I ask you to appreciate the members who do tend to go the extra mile to help someone in need.  I mean, I know of many members who do care about people and try their best to help people with whatever they have a problem with.  No, not everyone can be helped.  However, there are members who do try their best.

I try my best to be as supportive as I can.  I can't help everyone, but I try my best to help all of the people that I can help as opposed to being rude to them or just ignoring them.  I know what you mean, however you can't generalise the whole website saying it is "unsupportive" because there are members who are indeed very supportive and help many people.

  Support doesn't mean fixing the problem. No one can fix someone else's problems, because it all relies on the individual. I would be crazy to think I could 'fix' anything.

  Support is giving an alternate perspective on things, a view given from someone who does NOT have emotions to cloud more logical and rational thinking. Support for some is just having someone to talk to, even if it's about nothing serious. Support for others is finding someone else that may be able to understand. Support for others is finding out what the majority thinks so that they can join the band wagon.

  And for others, support is finding someone that can fix things. But maybe those people are just too unwilling to recognize that at the end of the day, it all comes down to THEM, and until they put forth the effort, there's not much else to expect.

My only complaint is that the people who consistently post garbage in the support forums dont really get much besides a slap on the wrist.
I stay out of support forums when Im not being "supportive", and consistently offer support in them when I am.....yet MULTIPLE times I've been told Im at risk for losing my SL status because I'm not supportive in the nonsupport forums.

There are a few priority issues here.

I know what you mean.  There are many people who reply to topics in TD & EI with things like "ok" or "i don't care" and it's just sad.  I mean, if you're going to spam and avoid being supportive, then you really shouldn't be posting in the support forums where people are very vulnerable and sensitive.  When I see those responses, it bothers me a lot and therefore I feel that I have to give a very supportive response to that topic because of the lack of support the OP received.

It comes down to having one completely set standard.  No inbetweens, no having to judge, "this topic is supportive or it isn't".  You have to adhere to a very strict set of rules, because the more lenient you are, the more ability there is to find "loop holes".
