I just moved into halls the other day and I really don't like anyone here. Everyone seems to know everyone and it's as if they're purposely ignoring me. They hardly ever try to talk to me.
I make myself appear approachable, smiling and trying to get my input in but no-one is really interested.
I've already taken to staying in my room most of the day.
I want to go out and meet people and try to find someone that has common interests with me or even just to be able to get these people to include me or want to talk to me.

Any ideas on getting conversation going amongst total strangers? I'm not that confident to just jump in and be loud and trying to get my input in... and I've already made a first impression that i'm kinda quiet and reserved.

HELP!

Jump in one of their conversations and casually mention that you love sex.

Eventually someone will come and find you.

It's still at this stage where it's always in big groups of people at one time. Not smaller ones and even then, people won't let me join in a 3-way conversation

I'm from a different country than 99% of them so they're looking upon me as an outcast or something.

I should find some other international students.
But what about the people I'm living with, they're not international. How can include myself more?
