I'm curious.

On an honest scale of 1 to 10, one being you didn't, and 10 being you did to an extreme, how bad did you want to become a moderator?

I know everyone is like "Oh, I could care less", but I'm wondering how badly you guys actually wanted it.

Hm...6.75 I wanted to do it, but not to the point where I consciously tried all the time to make myself look like a good candidate. I submitted the app and left it lying for a while and was sort of thinking about doing a new one when I got promoted.

We all wanted it or we wouldn't have applied.

I wanted it, probably a 5. I was more worried about why I would be promoted. I was worried about being promoted because I have a lot of mod friends. And I wanted to make sure that I was promoted because of who I am and what I have to offer rather than because I happen to be friendly with some of the team. I wanted to really earn and deserve my position.

Haha, I had this same conversation with my friend in England.  Americans and Canadians say *could care less*.  He explained to me that the phrase was actually *couldn't care less*.

I guess the Western world has, yet again, butchered a common phrase.

Hmmm, maybe a 5.5. I mostly just wanted to be able to clean up a couple support forums at that time, because they were pretty bad. I didn't intentionally do anything to be promoted, I just applied and let it sit there. Though, I wanted to be a mod a little bit less when I was Contest Manager, because I loved that position!

When I applied, I wanted it... about an 8 on the scale. By the time I got it, I was rather surprised. It was about 6 months later and I was thinking about leaving, as I was starting to lose interest. I was about at a 3.5-4 then.

When I submitted, probably 8. When I got promoted it was like 4-5.

I wanted it quite a lot, and I got promoted fairly soon after I applied.

Not even a mod but I really would like to rewrite forum guidelines in the race forum, promote discussion about operational definitions rather than those that are copied and pasted from wikipedia, and get it defined as a discussion forum rather than the "support forum" it is categorized as now. I want to try to turn it around and get it looking somewhat decent. That and moderate TD&R.

I would probably say about a 6.5-7 atm. But of course that requires David to log in and take the time to look at applications for any new mods to be promoted

Edit:  I didn't get promoted for any of the forums that I wanted to work on.
